This freeze dryer has a capacity of 470 standard baking trays. To understand how many pounds of material that adds up to, simply measure how much or your product you put on the standard 18" x 26" x 1" baking tray. For most meats and vegetables, that usually adds up to about 3600 lb, for candy like Skittles, that adds up to 1400 lb. 
 
Typical batch time for this machine is 20 hours for most meats and vegetables, as quick as 2 hours for candy like Skittles, and 6 to 12 hours for mushrooms and herbs.
